Cheap n Nasty

This 7″ from 1981 is often overlooked. There are part of the first and second generation of Dutch punk bands. But they barely get mentioned in books or fanzines on Dutch punk despite releasing this very cool 7″. Somehow this is actually a good thing, since you can pick this on up for 10 to 15 bucks and that is very cheap compared to some of the other Dutch punk singles from that era. They started out in 1978 due to hanging out at the legendary No Fun store in Amsterdam, but it took them a while to start playing shows and recording stuff. They played a ton of support shows for bands such as UK Subs, The Ruts, Bauhaus and Vice Squad.

Their music gets compared with Alternative TV but it is more experimental punk than new wave. It reminds me a bit of the Slits too. Fun thing is that my copy came with the unglued labels and the booklet insert. Often both are missing, so I got lucky.
