Uitholling Overdwars

This is an interesting record if you are Dutch. This compilation is made up with songs from different upcoming Dutch bands in 1979. Sound wise it ranges from punk to power pop to pop music. What makes this compilation so interesting isn’t that all songs are sung in Dutch. But that it shows  in what direction the first punk bands went into and it shows two bands that changed their style in the next few years to become the most popular bands in the Netherlands. Especially the popularity of the band Doe Maar reached the levels of The Beatles in the early to mid 80’s.
